Leticia Aguirre
Lety was born in California but raised in Sonora, Mexico until she was 12 years old. She is the second of four children. She comes from a large family that has now primarily settled in Arizona.
Lety believes she was destined to work with immigrants. In 2007, prior to starting with Salvatierra Law Group, PLLC, she helped a close family member with their immigrant visa case at the U.S. Embassy in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. She had no experience or knowledge of immigration law, however, she understood that her relatives were suffering and had given up hope of being reunited with their family in the United States. Lety prepared documents and secured an immigrant visa interview, but the U.S. Consular official did not approve the immigrant visa at that time. Everyone in her family was devastated and angry. Feeling hopeless, Lety sought professional help from several attorneys, but all were unwilling to take the case. Lety took matters into her own hands and learned how to get a criminal background check and request criminal records. After mailing certified records to the U.S. Embassy in Ciudad Juarez, her relative received a call from the U.S. Embassy approving their immigrant visa to the United States. Lety felt a sense of relief and happiness for her relatives. This experience taught Lety many valuable lessons about immigration law and helped her gain the confidence to help others in difficult situations.
Lety was the first employee of Salvatierra Law Group, PLLC in September 2009, working with Mrs. Salvatierra in a one-room office in Mesa, Arizona. She has been Mrs. Salvatierra's right hand from the day she accepted an offer of employment as a legal assistant. In 2010, after the anti-immigrant legislation S.B. 1070 was released, Lety handled the intakes of desperate family members looking for their detained loved ones.
Lety believes that caring for a client's success in their immigration case is an integral part of her job and the mission at SLG. Lety takes pride in being a part of the client's victory, namely by empathizing with the client, meeting their family, acknowledging their immigration journey, providing quality work, and helping them achieve lawful status in the United States. Lety has repeatedly helped clients who were once on the brink of deportation become U.S. Citizens. She has witnessed several ‘miracle' cases of families reunited after so many years apart and difficult cases reopened with new life breathed into them. These ‘miracles' bring Lety immense joy and personal satisfaction.
In addition to being an integral part of the day-to-day operations at Salvatierra Law Group, PLLC, Lety has done extensive immigration law training by attending conferences at the American Immigration Lawyer's Association (AILA), paralegal conferences through AILA, and satisfactorily completing the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) Accredited curriculum program through CLINIC.
Lety has been married for 22 years and has two beautiful young children. Lety's values are deeply rooted in her faith and her family. She loves to spend quality time with her family and close friends, especially breakfast with her mom and date nights with her husband. For fun, Lety is an avid podcaster, listening to everything from personal growth, mental health, parenting, Christianity and motivational topics. She is an amateur naturopath, with a trove of knowledge on household remedies, listens to Spotify and binge watches Grey's Anatomy.
